The Family Portrait Experience
Portraits are more than just a photo. When we take these portraits we are stopping time. We look at this family and how they have evolved, what makes them unique, what excites them, and what makes them happy. These images are more than just a snapshot. They are a gift for all the people they love and for those who love them. We are able to capture this moment and freeze it on photographic paper so that someday, their spouse, their children, their grandchildren can look at it and say this is my father, this is my grandmother, this is my love. This is the legacy of who they are…
The Sessions
In your session, our focus is on you. We work with only one family at a time so the focus is on you and your story, allowing us to get the very best imagery possible. Our family's often play their favorite music while we are shooting to help them relax. We do everything we can to make sure we all have fun (sometimes even cookies and really bad dad jokes). When everyone is having fun, that will appear in your images and you will look your best. Props, multiple outfits, and some great settings help make the experience interesting and flow nicely.
Dramatic Imagery
Photographs should have an impact on the viewer, an emotional response, a wow! We strive to put that in every gallery of images. Using the latest camera equipment and lighting technologies, interesting locations and exciting props, we are able to transform images from ordinary to extraordinary. We are always trying something new and exciting to give our portraits that memorable touch. We have employed some “outside the box” tactics to create dramatic images like positioning people on the edge of a waterfall, letting the fall leaves fly, and tossing ten pounds of flour in the air for some amazing powder effects.
Your Story Book
Our Signature Portrait Albums are the best way to tell the story of who your family is. A single photograph may be beautiful, but a series of images that are carefully crafted into a narrative can have an exponential impact in allowing generations to look back at this moment in time.
When we are photographing a family, we are also designing an album in our minds, constantly identifying ways to turn interests and locations into beautiful spreads and storylines. In the studio, we creatively blend all of these elements, designing multi-page art books that tell an elaborate tale and are the perfect marriage of substance and style. The finished piece is then printed in an Italian castle by world-renowned book maker GraphiStudio using special covers, inks, and binding techniques. The result is a gorgeous, hard-bound coffee table book that enables you to look back at this moment for years to come.
